Be Kind, Be Courteous, Be Creative: This community is built on respect, empathy, and innovation. The energy we bring into this space significantly impacts its vibrancy and inclusivity. We hope for this space to elevate the Charlotte art scene and inspire everyone to tap into their creativity and grow artistically. You get out what you put in, so bring your good vibes and let that energy grow into a space where you create fun memories, new skills, and new friendships.

Embrace the impermanence: Over time, every artwork will be painted over due to the limited amount of space. Be sure to get a photo of your piece as nothing is permanent and the landscape is always changing and evolving. Don’t take it personally. Imagine your artwork as a sandcastle. Put all of your love and enthusiasm into bringing it to life for yourself and others to enjoy and come back again to create a new masterpiece and tag TAOHoutdoorGallery on Instagram to have your work featured.

We rise by lifting others: No Queens or Kings here. Share your wisdom, everyone has something to learn and something to teach. Everyone is creating in their own unique style, cheer each other on and challenge yourself to grow in a new way.

Where to Paint: Do your best to use common sense and respect. If it looks like someone has put a lot of time, effort, and skill into a painting, honor it by only painting over that spot if you are going to put a lot of effort in yourself. A best practice, if you can’t create an artwork at the same level of intricacy as what you’re going to paint over, don’t go over it.

If you are going to do something quick and small then try to only paint over something that is quick and small. When painting over someone’s work, do your best to cover it completely if possible. Allow newer paintings to stay up and go over the older ones first. Please don’t go over a work in progress, everyone moves at a different pace and they might need more time to add their final touches. If we all do our best to work with kindness then we will be able to elevate the quality of art to keep it fresh and inspiring for all who come to visit.

Leave No Trace: If You Brought it In, take it out - Respecting the environment in the same way you would care for your home is the best way for this space to last.
